Have you ever stopped to think about what is really happening in Heaven at the exact moment you say "Amen" before receiving communion? This is not a supposition or a spiritual metaphor. These are profound theological realities, taught by the greatest saints in the history of the Catholic Church, which reveal an invisible and celestial dimension of the most sacred sacrament of Christianity: the Eucharist. In this video, we are going to explore four spiritual realities that happen simultaneously in the invisible world when a conscious soul approaches the altar and pronounces that three-syllable word that we so often say without perceiving all its weight and all its meaning. Drawing on the teachings of Saint Thomas Aquinas, Saint John Chrysostom, Saint Gertrude of Helfta, and Saint Teresa of Avila, we will discover together what the mystical and theological tradition of the Church reveals to us about this moment that is, possibly, the most sacred of our entire week. Saint Thomas Aquinas taught that the "Amen" pronounced before receiving the Body of Christ is not an automatic word or a liturgical reflex emptied of meaning. It is an explicit act of faith in the Real Presence, a total adherence of the intelligence and the will to a truth that surpasses any human category of understanding. And when this word is pronounced with awareness and with an open heart, it echoes in Heaven as a public profession of faith before the entire heavenly court, and the angels rejoice because someone on earth is believing what they see face to face. Saint John Chrysostom teaches us that during Mass the altar is surrounded by angels who contemplate with reverence the mystery that takes place there. And when a soul responds "Amen" with awareness, the angels bow in even deeper adoration, because Heaven recognizes: a soul is about to receive the King. Saint Gertrude of Helfta, the Messenger of Divine Love, revealed in her visions that when a person receives communion with love, the guardian angel of that soul glorifies God, because in that instant the angel's deepest mission is being fulfilled: leading that soul to union with Christ. And Saint Teresa of Avila teaches us that in communion Christ enters the inner dwelling of the soul as a Spouse, and that "Amen" is the consent of the soul. More than that: in Heaven, it is not only you who says "Amen". Christ also says "Amen, I am coming to you", renewing an invisible, intimate and eternal covenant. This video will change the way you approach the altar. Not because we are going to give you a list of devotional practices to fulfill, but because once you understand what is really happening in that moment, you can never live it the same way again.
