This anthem of peace and love is one of his most important and iconic international hits, selling over a million copies worldwide. This international hit was a success in the spring of 1968 (reaching number 32 on the US Billboard Hot 100, number 1 on the BBC charts in the UK, and number 1 in Austria and Australia), and was popularized again twenty years later by the success of the 1987 film Good Morning, Vietnam.
