In Marsabit County, the Tullu Women Group turned a dangerous challenge into an opportunity. By planting their own grass, they’ve avoided life-threatening trips up the hills and created a sustainable solution for their livestock’s fodder needs. With support from the Emergency Locust Response Program (ELRP), the Tullu Pasture Cooperative Society received a KES 500,000 grant to boost efficiency and provide loans to support livelihoods. ELRP also trained farmers on pasture production and provided essential tools like grass seeds & fruit tree seedlings, manual balers & sickles, and the construction of storage facilities. Watch how they’ve secured fodder for their livestock and started earning by selling hay in the community. This is resilience in action!
