HAPPY 40TH BIRTHDAY, JESSICA DiCICCO!

Today Is the 40th birthday of voice actressess Jessica DiCicco! Most people will remember her the most for her roles in Nickelodeon cartoons, specifically Lynn and Lucy Loud on The Loud House and Annie Bramley on It's Pony, but while I do like all three of those characters, I will forever admire her more for giving a stern but good-intentioned voice to Malina on Disney's "The Emperor's New School". Many feminist groups have criticized her portrayal on the show as being "sexist", but I honestly don't agree. Yes, she wears clothes that fit her a bit too snuggly, she frequently gets called a "hottie" by Kuzco, and her body is a metaphorical boy magnet, but she's also smart, independent, and relatable, which are the REAL reasons why I love her so much. 🥰 I hope DiCicco appreciates me praising one of her earliest roles the way I did, and that she agrees with my defense of Malina. To celebrate this special occasion, here’s a clip from the show featuring my all-time favorite character voiced by DiCicco, in which Malina and Kuzco try to decipher a message written by Kuzco’s father, leading to Kuzco believing that the duo needs to change into some birthday attire.
