Solitude - A cycling self film in the Scottish Highlands

2020 - the year of lockdowns, uncertainty and bad news. After the first UK nationwide lockdown I decided to go on a two week solo roadtrip around the Scottish Highlands. I slept in my car and travelled around on the bike without a timetable for the duration. There's something quite liberating about not following the news, reading the negative headlines and endlessly scrolling social media feeds. The simple pleasures of getting some sun (and a bit of rain..), listening to the flow of water and the gentle bleating of roaming sheep. On a personal level, I'm a bit of a seasoned racer on the bike. I decided this year to take a step back and really enjoy just getting out on the bike without worrying about hitting numbers on the bike in the name of training. Just roaming and peddling around for the joy of it was.... amazing. I'd implore you to do the same at some point if you've never tried. Enjoy the Ride! 1) PS.
