Undead Siege has many layers of RNG that affect the damage output. RNG stands for random number generator, it is an algorithm that produces random numbers used to determine random factors in the game. Firstly there is base location and mission RNG which determines the location of the base as well the mission types on each day and their locations respectively. Then there is wave RNG that determines the order in which the zombie waves spawn in, as certain types of waves cannot fully spawn in before the night ends, forcing the player to lose out on a great amount of damage. And lastly, the most brutal of them all; night 5 underground RNG, which is in fact just a bug that for some reason has not been fixed even after a dozen updates. This bug causes stacks of zombies to sometimes spawn underground, notably in Ski Town and Nuclear Plant, or inside the pillars in T3 Refinery. These zombies are stuck there for the entirety of the night and are immortal, resulting in most damage runs being a complete gamble on this RNG. This 11.61M Nightmare damage world record is the result of hundreds of hours of rigorous resetting to get the desired RNG. It consists of perfect wave RNG on every single night, perfect mission RNG with a day 4 Crystal and day 5 Butcher being located right next to the base, as well having no underground zombies on night 5; a miracle that has happened no more than five times total in the past year.
