In one of the oldest salt plants on Earth and Ukraine’s oldest operating company we will explore how Europeans of the medieval ages were able to extract salt from the earth. Using an ancient method of evaporation based mining, people have been pulling salt from Drohobych and the Galicia region for almost 800 years! This interesting saltworks facility and the cozy little town it is in is just a quick day trip away from one of Ukraine's most beautiful and connected cities, Lviv. This means that getting here is incredibly easy and the town and salt factory make for a fun excursion!
