It's incredible just how much the episodes with Castiel's and Rowena's death scenes have in common, from small gestures to pieces of dialogue, up to the Empty/the spirits floating into their stomachs. And following their deaths, both characters not only return, but also perform the epic feat of redesigning the afterlife for their chosen Winchester. If you're getting sad watching this, keep in mind that both Rowena and Cas are back in the end. It's canon. It's a shame we never got to see Cas's return, but he is back and even the SPN wiki lists his status as "Alive". So, they're back and they're happy! Apologies that I was unable to suppress the background music of some episodes any better. Sadly, the scenes I needed happened to have especially pervasive music, so I didn't have enough know-how to cover that up perfectly.
