The Nimfeum invites you on a personal journey into the world of Middle Eastern dance, where dancers and audience together rediscover the boundaries—and boundlessness—of the art form and its unique power to connect worlds, people, and emotions. Oum Kalthoum, the Egyptian diva who passed away fifty years ago, left behind a timeless legacy. Her song Enta Omri (“You Are My Life”) remains one of the most performed and danced pieces in the world of Raqs Sharqi (Oriental Dance). Yet, thanks to its rare complexity and emotional depth, every interpretation remains unique and unrepeatable. The Nimfeum Oriental Dance Studio now presents a full dance performance with theatrical approach inspired by the spirit of this iconic song. “Who are you? A memory woven into dance, the trace of a fleeting touch— Before you, I never knew the taste of joy. In the light of your eyes, I finally saw myself, and from that moment on, I truly began to live. How short life is, and how much has already passed— yet it feels as if everything is just beginning. In the halo of dawn, in this endless moment, you are here — and so am I.
