With more than 25 years working in improvisation comedy and theater as CEOof Boom Chicago in Amsterdam, Saskia found herself in the unique position of being able to help her autistic son expand his world and experiences through autism. Inspired by his growth and enthusisam, as well as the idea that this could help many more families besides her own, Saskia co-founded InterActing to teach children with autism social skills anunderstanding through improvisation. Improv encourages autistic young people to break out of their prefered patterns to embrace the unexpected, often experiencing fantastic results. Her talk at TEDxAmsterdamED explains how and why improvisation can have a positive, helpful effect on the development of children with autism.
