#musescore Vienna strings VSL #viennasymphoniclibrary In this video, I'm showing a score I downloaded of Albinoni's Adagio in G minor. I've put together a little demo where I added some of the articulations you can use with the Vienna Symphonic Library, specifically Vienna Strings. In my personal opinion, the sound is quite good. You can achieve a great result with a bit of sound mixing adjustment, since the instruments come with very little reverb — a very dry sound. This is typical for all Vienna Symphonic Library instruments. However, with some post-production editing, you can get excellent results. The legato is good, and it's possible to achieve very fast passages with it. It's important to use the written legato — the "legato slur" — so that the instrument can interpret it properly. There are other articulations I haven't tried yet, but I suppose over time I'll test them, and I imagine Musescore will handle them well. In the video, I tested the staccato, which works nicely, and other articulations like tremolo and pizzicato, for example. There's also the possibility of layering it with other sounds or instruments, whether from Spitfire or the Berlin Strings. I think you can achieve a really good blend. I think that, considering its price, it's definitely worth it. It's true that it's $50 for something that only takes up about 2 GB, and you might think you're just buying a toy. But the truth is, the final result and the sound quality are quite good. It's definitely worth it, especially when you consider that Vienna Symphonic Library sounds usually cost much more.
