From the 2023 Pediatric Transplant Conference, part of National Pediatric Transplant Week and National Donate Life Month. Full title: Ensuring a fair chance for all after transplant: opportunities to improve post-transplant care Presenter: Sharad Wadhwani, MD, MPH, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, Pediatric Gastroenterologist & Hepatologist at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Moderator: Kathleen Anderson, parent to pediatric heart transplant recipient Join us for a talk revealing groundbreaking research on how socioeconomic factors affect post-transplant outcomes for children. You'll hear about our team's firsthand experience working with caregivers and transplant team members to better understand the challenges and triumphs of seeking and providing care. We even went the extra mile to interview families facing financial obstacles to gain a deeper understanding of their unique experiences. Together, we'll explore how we can use this valuable information to develop interventions that narrow the socioeconomic and racial disparities in care. Be the first to hear about our pilot Health Advocate program launching at UCSF in April 2023, and learn from our lessons learned so far.
