Apartment block showing shell damage STORYLINE: APTN has obtained dramatic footage from inside Nablus, showing Israeli armour entering the city after nightfall on Friday. The footage also shows tanks patrolling the streets on Saturday. Masked Palestinian gunmen can be seen shoring up their sandbagged defences. In Nablus and Jenin, Israeli ground forces, backed by repeated helicopter attacks, have been battling Palestinian militants for three days. However, they have not taken full control of either city and have not entered their adjacent refugee camps, which are strongholds for the gunmen. Overall, 15 Palestinians and one Israeli soldier were killed on Saturday, with most of the deaths in Nablus and Jenin, which are 25 kilometres (15 miles) apart in the northern part of the West Bank. Nablus hospital treated many wounded Palestinians on Saturday - injured in fighting over the last two days of the Israeli incursion into the northern West Bank city. Hospital scenes showed several wounded being treated for a variety of injuries. Israel began moving into the West Bank on March 29 after a series of suicide bombing attacks, including one that killed 26 people in the city of Netanya at the start of the Passover holiday. The Israelis have taken over many parts of Nablus, but have only edged into Nablus' Old City, where they have encountered heavy shooting. The Israelis have surrounded the Balata refugee camp on the outskirts of Nablus and waged fierce firefights, but have not gone into the camp, Palestinian witnesses said.
