This video is an overview and a Commodore 64 setup guide (PAL only), for the Micomsoft XRGB-mini Framemeister upscaler unit. This hardware is not cheap, but does an extremely good job at upscaling the analogue low-res picture from the C64, to a modern digital picture (720p/1080p). If you are picky about picture quality (and have a bunch of money lying around), I highly recommend buying this. To quote Ferris Bueller: "If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up." :) NOTE: In order to see the "scrolltext skipping" I'm talking about (at 17:26) you have to watch the video on a 60hz screen, and play the YouTube video at either 1080p60 or 720p60 HD. And even then, it's not 100% sure the video will play smoothly enough for you to spot it. Oh, and I have no idea about how this works on all the portable phones and tablets. So just trust me on what I'm saying. Just leave SYNC_MODE on AUTO! ;) In order to get s-video from a C64, you need a special S-VIDEO cable. Just google it, or search eBay for "c64 s-video". If you have the C64 Reloaded motherboard, you just need a regular male-to-male s-video cable. The RGB SCART adapter cable I show in the video is NOT necessary for the C64, and it's NOT in the box. I bought it at Retro Gaming Cables. See links below. There IS a SCART cable in the box, but DO NOT use that in Europe! It is meant for the japanese market, and has different pinouts! At worst, you can damage the unit and/or the source!
