This is a single segment speedrun of Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, played on a North American SNES console, and completed in 39 minutes, 55 seconds. This run attempts to obtain the "true ending" to DKC2 as fast as possible by completing all Lost World levels and defeating K. Rool at Krocodile Kore. To do this, a developer "cheat" is used in the first level to gain access to 75 Kremkoins immediately. This run uses many of the glitches and strategies used in an Any% run, with the difference being the completion of the Lost World levels instead of all World 6 and World 7 levels (excluding Arctic Abyss). The run itself is much easier than an Any% run, as well as being a faster run overall. This is an improvement over my 40:58 True Ending run, with a majority of the time (about 55 seconds) being saved due to a new wrong warp being discovered in Bramble Scramble. The biggest mistakes of this run come from taking unintentional hits in Jungle Jinx & Black Ice Battle, which cost over 15 seconds combined. There was also some poor movement in the other Lost World levels (especially Animal Antics). However, this run gets perfect luck, getting both fakeless on Krow 1 & right spawn on Krow 2, making the run seem much better than it is. I'd estimate a low 39:3X or a high 39:2X would be a really good time for this category now, but I'm not sure if anyone will ever bother going for it. Enjoy!
