The Winter Solstice sunrise alignment at Newgrange is well known, but there is strong evidence for a Summer Solstice sunset alignment to balance it in the opposite direction as seen from Mound B (Dagda's Mound). From this vantage it is even possible that the entire mound of Newgrange spans a significant calendrical interval around Summer Solstice matching the opposite interval around Winter Solstice with light in the chamber of the monument.
