Behind the Photo with Peter Pereira: New Bedford - 100 Years Later

On this episode of Behind the Photo I take you to the top of the former New Bedford Hotel to recreate a panorama that was taken on May 17, 1920. One hundred years later, to the day, I attempt at taking the exact same photo to see how much this Massachusetts coastal city has changed in that time. I am not one do do photo recreations, but at it's most basic form, photography is a historical record of our time, so I think we need to document what New Bedford looks like in 2020. For my panorama I use Microsoft's Image Composite Editor which is a free program that lets you stitch different photos together into a seamless panorama. Tons of versatility and its free!
