What does IPEF mean for women in the labour sector in Asia and the Pacific? 🤔 🚨The Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF) has been launched by the United States together with 13 countries from Asia Pacific since May 2022. The US claims IPEF is a worker-centric framework, but it is far from true. ❌ Aside from public statements and speeches, the workers have no direct access to the consultations and negotiations within the framework. History has shown that women workers are disproportionately negatively impacted by neoliberal trade policies and corporations, which are both presented in the IPEF.
