What's up everybody, It's AJ with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna be checking out, the Spare Tire Carrier from Dutton-Lainson. And this is gonna go on any of your trailers, just a good way to carry an extra spare tire. So it's up out of the way up front where we don't usually use this space, that way it's not sitting in, in this instance in the boat or on the trailer. It's up and out of the way, it's a U-Bolt that goes around the frame. And then you just have some nuts on the other side to hold in place, works really well. See it's not moving or rattling. Let's check it out. Taking a closer look at our spare tire carrier, it's gonna work with spare tires, from eight, to nine, to 12, to 13 inches, and with a four or five bolt pattern. Something I will note though, is if it doesn't exactly fit the bolt pattern on your spare tire, you can bend it out a little bit because it is a U-Bolt so you can just kinda grab that, and get that little bit more to line up perfectly. The U-Bolt itself gonna be made out of a zinc plated steel, and includes the lug nuts you're gonna need to attach your spare tire to your trailer. One thing to keep an eye on though is look at the spare tire you're gonna use, if it does have an aluminum inside here, you're gonna want to get aluminum lug nuts instead. Looking at the U-Bolt, let's get some measurements real quick. Down here at the bottom is gonna be the most narrow, and it's gonna be three and a quarter inches. And then at the top, it's gonna be three and five eights inches apart, it widens as you go up here, and again you can bend that just a little bit more if you needed to. And then in total, from the top to the bottom of the U-Bolt, it's gonna be eight and five, eight inches. You can use those measurements to figure out if it's gonna fit on your trailer. So coming down here to the most narrow part. I would measure your trailer, make sure it's gonna fit in there. And then up top is gonna make sure that the wheels gonna fit with that spacing. This is everything it's gonna come with. We've got the U-Bolt, and the lug nuts here. It's really easy to install so we're just gonna come under here, underneath the trailer. Put our U-Bolt up, and just fit it through those holes on our wheel. Like I said it's okay to bend it out just a little bit, looks like it just needs a little help. Now it goes up to the place and the nice part with that is it kind of holds itself in place if you do have to, I mean, I said bend, but I just pushed it a little bit and it went through but that it's gonna have friction there so that's gonna stay in place, without our lug nuts. Just start running those down. Make sure the narrow part of the lug nut goes down into the wheel. See if I can get the other one started too. And now we know it's not going anywhere we can come back with our ratchet. And a longer socket and tighten it down. And with that, you see it's on there nice and tight. It's not going anywhere. Really simple to install. One of those things that it's just easier to have this, to have your wheel outside of your trailer. So in this instance inside the boat, I'd rather have it right here out of the way, and secure, rather than just being loose in the boat. Well, thanks for hanging out and I hope this helps..
