Here is part 2 of 3 of how to place and glue Goodyear rubber protective half soles onto your leather soled shoes. In this video I show how to glue & place a pair of Goodyear protective half soles onto a pair of leather soled shoes. Often times higher quality shoes will come with leather soles, but the wet and snowy weather around here is terrible for leather soled shoes. Most people aren't willing to wear shoe rubbers, so I feel this is an economical and smart solution. A pack of six pairs of new Goodyear protective half soles are available on eBay for around $20. I used DAP Weldwood Contact Cement, available in small bottles at Walmart, or larger cans at your local big box home improvement store. After applying the glue to both of the shoe and the half sole, I let the glue dry for around 10 minutes, per the instructions on the can. If the soles are extremely worn, these will be difficult to apply properly, as the first place the sole of the shoe wears is at the corners at the tip of the toe. If the sole of the shoe is too rounded, you may not be able to get the half sole to adhere to the curve at he tip of the toe. Part 1: • How to apply protective half soles to your...
