Today on our 2014 Kia Soul we're going to show you how to install the Tocancha T1 vehicle wiring harness with a 4 bolt flat trailer connector. Part number is 118637. Here's what our wiring kit is going to look like. It's a pretty straight forward setup. We're going to have out T connectors. That's where it gets the name "T1". The yellow and brown are going to go between the connection behind our drivers side tail light housing. The red and green are going to go behind our passenger side tail light housing. The only thing we'll have left to deal with then is the white wire that's going to be grounded out to the body of the vehicle pretty straight forward. We've got the red power wire that your see coming off here. We're going to use some of the provided hardware and connect that wire to our black wire that we're going to run up to our battery. It's gong to go through a fuse holder and connect right to one of our battery terminals powering our box. We're not going to be drawing any power through our wires to operate our box, we're going to get that power directly from the battery so it doesn't overload any of our circuits. Our Modulite box, once we have that power going to it it's going to turn the signals that we're getting from our tail lights into a usable signal that will power our trailer here at our four pole flat connector. We're also going to have some extra zip ties and stuff to make the job a little bit easier and some detailed instructions to help you on the way. To begin installation we're going to take out the four screws that are holding the tail light housing in place here. We can do that on both sides of the vehicle. Grab our tail light housing and just kind of work it out and pull out gently on it. See that come out and that one long light is just going to have one connector on it. Press that tab in right there. Pull it our just like that, set our light aside. Do the same thing here for the drivers side. Let's grab the yellow and brown side and slide it all the way in until you hear that click and just give it a good pull to make sure it's connected. Now we're going to direct our four pole wire down in between the body and our bumper. Let's do the same for our red and green wire. Now to buy you a little extra room to pass that plug through I'm going to go ahead and pull the push pin fastener out. You see we can kind of flex that out a little bit more now. We should be able to pass that through without an issue. Now if we keep feeding that in there eventually we're going to be able to reach underneath her and grab it. See there's our four pole side. Then what I like to do is pull through just about all the slack there. Then we can take one of the ends of our bulk black wire. I'm going to tape that right off to my red and green wire and I'm going to use that wire to pull it back up so we can make our connection. Use little electrical tape to go around it there. Just pull it nice and easy on it. You see we have our black wire right there attached we can untape it and just pull that green and red slack a little bit. Now let's strip back the end of our black wire and I'm going to add our butt connector that is provided right to the end of that. You remember the red wire we saw coming out of the Modulite box. We're going to strip back maybe just a touch more on there and that'll get connected to the other side of that butt connector. Now since this is going to be on the exterior of the vehicle just use a little bit of electrical tape. We can wrap that up and let's pull our extra black wire down, our extra green and red wire down, and also our extra four pole wire down. We can get that stuff out of the way so we can work with the connections we need to make here. Now for a box location I'm going to go right here. You see that's our second from the top fastener. I'm going to go right there on that flat panel. It looks like there's enough room there to hold that while we do it. I want to take just a little bit of rubbing alcohol and I really want to clean that area off well. I'm also going to do that to the back of my Modulite box here. Allow that to evaporate then we'll use the provided foam tape. Place it on the backside and then mount it right up there where we cleaned off. Now we won't have to worry about it bouncing around, rattling around, or causing any issues while we're heading down the road. Now we're going to take our white ground wire.
