Exploring the life cycle and my fascination with death recently. I wonder where we go when we die, what will happen to our energy if all humans die off and what will happen when the earth eventually dies off… in hundreds of millions of years, or will it just evolve? Then, “the disregard for all we are and all we’ve ever been to ride in cars and cook in lard is much to my chagrin” pretty much sums up the song. We're willing to throw away the beauty of our existence for cheap pleasures. The whole song is then about how all I can think to do is sing in the face of crisis. It’s a satire on my self-awareness. I am proud to write that 10% of artist revenues from this album will be routed towards two nature conservation organizations in solidarity with Indigenous Peoples: DUCKS Unlimited Canada and Amazon Watch.
