I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE THIS TRIP HAPPENED! I finally reached my seventh continent—Antarctica—and it was everything I dreamed of and more. Join my uncle and me for an unforgettable 11-day journey aboard the M/V Hondius with Oceanside Expeditions. I’ve spoken about many of my favorite places over the years, but Antarctica easily tops the list. Antarctica is a place that I didn't think I would have the chance to visit until much later in my life. Thanks to some schedule flexibility and the incredible support from Wayfinders Travel Agency, we made it happen. Our adventure began in Ushuaia, Argentina—the world’s southernmost city—where we hiked to the breathtaking glacial lakes of Laguna Esmeralda. Then, on January 22, 2025, we boarded the MV Hondius and braved the two-day journey through the legendary Drake Passage (luckily we had the Drake Lake) until we finally arrived at the pristine white continent. Every moment was magical—from sipping coffees and enjoying meals with icebergs drifting by, to cruising on zodiacs in search of whales, seals, and penguins. Walking alongside Gentoo, Chinstrap, and Adelie penguins was surreal, and sending a postcard from Port Lockroy—the southernmost post office in the world—was a highlight I’ll never forget.
