Since yesterday, police teams have been patrolling near colleges, malls, parks and other public places. Surprise checks have produced offenders in many cities. Three men were arrested yesterday in Lucknow and in Meerut, teens were hauled up outside girls' schools and colleges and questioned. The idea behind the squad is to reclaim public spaces and make them safe for women. Yogi Adityanath on Monday had come up with a plan to improve law and order situatioon in the state, in tandem with the poll promises of the BJP, which swept the UP election with an enormous haul of 315 of 403 seats.
