Just like probiotics help our human bodies they are good for plants too! Beneficial bacteria and fungi, also known as microbes or microorganisms, support plant health. Learn how to add beneficial microbes to your favorite plants and fruit trees in your garden. The beneficial microbes help to absorb nutrients and water, improve resilience to plant stress, increase drought tolerance, increase flowering and fruiting, and reduce root disease attack. In this video I am applying 1 Tablespoon of Revival Gardening's Mycorrhizal Plus product to a 'Day' avocado tree. The Mycorrhizal Plus product contains 13 species of beneficial fungi and bacteria including: Glomus intraradices Glomus mosseae Pisolithus tinctorius Scleroderma citrinum Rhizopogon lutoelus Bacillus subtitles Bacillus pumilus The fungal species help to colonize plant roots and 'extend' the root system of the plants, helping them to absorb water and nutrients that were previously out of reach to the plant. To grow your own microbes for the soil, check out my video on indigenous microorganisms (IMO) otherwise known as Korean Natural Farming.
