In this video I show you how to make an RGB Backlit LED Sign. This is how to build a CNC Sign. Building a DIY CNC Sign using Hitlights RGB 16' LED light strip 🔴 http://amzn.to/2oOiuUU ⏬ Here are the products U Do It uses in making videos ⏬ I enjoy fusing engineering with art to create #EngineeredArt. This video demonstrates how to build a backlit LED sign. The design is from the All Out Baseball team's logo and will be auctioned off to raise money for the team. The building process took approximately 16 hours to complete. The longest part was gluing on the LED strips and soldering them together. If you see YouTuber's studios they all have some form of backlighting. This would cast the perfect glow of color on a dimly lit wall with a Philip DeFranco style. The following steps were taken to complete the sign. 1) Prep and tool logo cutout file for CNC 2) Cutout logo on CNC out of 1/4" MDF and back 3) Sand logo 4) Trace cutout on back 5) Place cutout pieces in center of cutout tracing 6) trace the cutouts 7) glue cutouts in place on back of board 8) cut standoffs and position 9) glue standoffs in place with cyanoacrylate glue 10) paint back and cutout sides with primer 11) paint pack and cutout with desired colors 12) size LED strips and cut to length to be glued to back side of cutout 13) position LED strips and glue in place 14) strip and solder 4 wire to join the chains 15) test the lights in Red, then Green, then Blue to ensure all wiring is perfect 16) Do not glue the solder joints yet 17) Complete all soldering and test 18) glue all solder joints 19) position cutout over back and trace standoff locations lightly with pencil 20) mark center of each traced area on back 21) drill a hole that matches the screw diameter in each marked area 22) put the cutout on its front side down 23) position the back oriented properly over the cutout 24) with a center marker or a drill bit (by hand) mark the center point of the hole into the standoffs 25) with a drill and a drill bit that is smaller than the screw drill to the depth of the screw 26) countersink the holes in the back with a larger drill bit or a countersink bit 27) Install the screws in each standoff 28) mount a picture hanging kit in the back in the area of the center of gravity 29) hang on a wall 30) plug in and turn on the remote This is perfect for a youtube studio, live streaming, photo opportunities, selfies or just pure awesomeness.
