The Kala Mini, as the name already suggests, is a small handheld red light therapy device. I had many requests to review this red light therapy device, and hence, I created this video. ✅ Save 15% by ordering through this link - https://aferg.co/Kala Also, if you're not acquainted with my red light therapy content, then check out some of my other 100%-free resources - such as reviews, comparisons, datasheets, and more - in the list below: ✅ My epic Facebook group on red light therapy and more: https://aferg.co/fb-group ✅ Full playlist of my 2022 body panel red light therapy comparison series with all episodes: https://aferg.co/RLT-2021-playlist ✅ My excel sheet for comparing different panels to their competition: https://aferg.co/rlt-data ✅ My earlier 2021/2022 handheld red light therapy comparison video: https://aferg.co/handheld-YT-review ✅ For my red light therapy buyer's guide blog, follow this link: https://aferg.co/RLTguide ✅ My red light testing methodology video: https://aferg.co/rlt-testing-method So, what's up with the Kala Mini? Let's go through my findings step by step: ✅ Kala is a Canadian company. The Kala company is two years old now, originating in 2020. Two friends with a background in sports founded the company ✅ The company offers different red light therapy devices, such as a mini, a tabletop panel, and a body panel. By combining four different Kala Elites (the body panel), you can create a mega panel using the stand. Both horizontal and vertical stands are available. Light therapy devices, to counter SAD, are also available ✅ The Kala Mini costs $349.99 CAD. One CAD, as of the moment of publishing this video, equals 0.78 USD. Meaning, in USD, the Kala Mini is priced at about $277 without discount code ALEX applied yet. Code ALEX saves you 10% so you'll be paying $250 USD. Shipping to the USA and Canada is free. Right now, Kala only ships to the US, Canada, Mexico, and New Zealand ✅ The red light therapy panel has a 1-year warranty and a 30-day return policy ✅ The Kala Mini comes in a nice branded package. The box includes a user manual, a pouch for storing the device, the actual device, stickers, a power cable and a charger. The instruction manual is also quite good. ✅ The device weighs 1.3 pounds, and is 6 inches tall, 4 inches wide, and 1.5 inches thick. The size is similar to other devices, and, I can hold it in one hand. The one downside is that the curves towards the back are quite sharp ✅ There are very few options on the device, which is a good thing - you've got a USBC plug and a power button. There's also a battery power indicator. When activated, you can hear the fans activated. ✅ The panel contains 12 LEDs - combining 660 nanometers and 850 nanometers. Holding the power button for a few seconds deactivates the panel. The LEDs are not dual chip, unfortunately ✅ Fortunately, there are no issues with Electro-Magnetic Fields (EMFs). ✅ In terms of wavelengths, most power is emitted around 660 nm and 850 nm, when tested with my spectrometer, which was decent. The peak power output was 32 mW/cm2, which is great, as last year I've tested 37 mW/cm2 ✅ The sound was a bit high and might be an issue if you're looking for an extremely quiet panel ✅ Also, I've compared the Kala Mini to two potential rivals - the winner of my handheld comparison series 2021, the Mito Red Mito Mobile Flex, and the Joovv Go 2.0. ✅ The Mito Mobile Flex can be bought for $237 USD after using discount code ALEX. The Mito Red has dual-chip LEDs, which is a big plus. The Mito Red is slightly slimmer as well. ✅ Next up, the Joovv Go 2.0 is very expensive - at $599 without discount code. This is a repeat pattern for Joovv. The Joovv Go 2.0 is a nice panel and package though, but probably not worth the money for most ✅ Most people, including myself, use handheld red light therapy device for travel or for spot treatment, or in the gym, but not as a replacement for body panels. Bluetooth or other options don't really matter ✅ For me, being able to hold the panel easily is very important. The rough edges on the back of the Kala I personally dislike. Overall though, there's nothing wrong with the Kala Mini, it's not overpriced, the power is good, EMF is great, but, it's not groundbreaking either. For local Canadians the Kala might be a great option #kala #lllt #redlighttherapy #redlight 00:00 Kala Introduction 02:06 Price & Shipping 03:16 Box Inclusions & Unboxing 04:51 Panel First Look 05:54 Activating Panel & LEDs 07:33 Power & EMF Measurement 10:02 Comparison To Competition 12:30 Using Handheld Panels 13:59 Concluding Thoughts
