http://boxxforsheriff.com/ Today on meet the voter and RMC TV we have Washoe County Candidate for Sheriff, Sherman Boxx During Sherman’s 26-year career with Sparks PD, he gained valuable skills, knowledge, and experience as a dispatcher, line officer, training officer, and an officer in the jail. He gained leadership and supervision experience as a Sergeant and retiring at the rank of Lieutenant. While he was assigned to the jail at Sparks Police Department, before it was regionalized, Sherman learned many things about the care, custody and control of criminal defendants.  However, it was nothing compared to the responsibilities required daily in the Washoe County detention facility. As a juvenile detective, which included responding to a newly discovered gang presence in the area, Sherman developed an expertise and an interest in investigating and assisting juvenile victims, a passion he still carries today. Sherman enjoyed the first part of his career as a line officer. In 1990, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and continued his journey in supervision and leadership and retired from the Sparks Police Department in 2003 at the rank of Lieutenant. In 2014, he returned back to law enforcement when he was asked by newly elected Washoe County Sheriff, Chuck Allen to come out of retirement and help him transition into leading the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Allen took office January 5, 2015, and I became the Chief Deputy of Operations. I continued that assignment until October 2016.
