These are individual photos that have been processed in post to create a video of the night sky. Each image was taken at ISO 3,200 for 6 seconds using the Sony 20mm f/1.8 lens. Very little post-processing was done. I used the camera's internal intervalometer to automate the process. On a previous night I did a 4-hour time lapse test using an internal fresh battery. They A7SIII was able to record images for about 4 hours before the internal battery died. For this test, my goal was to leave the camera record images for the entire night -- about 10 hours. This was achieved by using an external 12v battery with a USB port powering the camera. After 10 hours I still had 97% of the camera's internal battery remaining. This is fantastic for anyone wanting to run the A7SIII for many, many hours. As long as there's an external source powering the camera, it will run for days! This video shows a number of night-sky objects including the Milky Way, Jupiter, Saturn, Mars and Orion (near the end). It also unfortunately shows the massive amount of satellites and planes that now crowd the night sky including many Starlink satellites that appear on and off throughout the night.
