NEW LOOK 6351- AN UNLINED JACKET | SEAM BINDING FOR THE WIN

Hola! 👋🏾 Hope ALL is well! 🙏🏾 The inside of a garment deserves just as much attention as the outside. I think that when you’re sewing an unlined jacket, the seam finish becomes part of the design. In this video I’m working on New Look 6351, the unlined jacket that gave me a chance to slow down and think about how I wanted to finish the seams, instead of defaulting to a quick finish. For this jacket, I chose seam binding to finish the seams. It gives the inside a clean, thoughtful finish and adds a little something special every time the jacket is opened. This project is also the beginning of something I’ve been wanting to explore more — different seam finishes and when they make sense for a garment. Every fabric and every design deserves a finish that complements it. Would you agree? There’s something special about opening up a hand made garment and seeing those beautifully finished seams on the inside. It feels thoughtful… intentional… and just a little bit special.
