(Filmed 4/28/25) Happy Valentine's Day! My special upload for you is of all 3 of the elevators at the Longmont Public Library! Please enjoy this video! Credits: Thank you to the kind people at the Children's and Teen's desk for letting me go back and film the staff elevator! I wouldn't have done this without all of your support in me through my volunteering here! Additional information: These were originally Dover elevators with Impulse fixtures (from 1993). These were pretty much typical impulses, except for the garage elevator which appeared to be an older installation that was probably relay-controlled (the other two were on solid-state Dover controllers). These all got modernized in 2022 by TK Elevator (TKE), and they all have loud, epic motors. Pretty much a full mod except for the cabs. This modernization was originally announced in a June 2022 news post, stating "Prioritizing patron safety, Longmont Library to start elevator modernization" - "The Longmont Public Library will start a three-phase process to modernize the Library’s two interior elevators and exterior parking garage elevator. Starting June 27, construction crews will start work on the patron elevator located on the first floor [near the info desk]." On the stated day, modernization of these elevators began. The order of the modernization phases is as follows: 1. Patron elevator 2. Staff elevator 3. Garage elevator The footage is shown in this video in that order. See the timestamps below for ease of navigation. The order of modernization is basically most used first to least used last. The result of this process is very interesting. As for the staff elevator, I wouldn't recommend trying it out unless you are a worker here. People would start asking questions if you attempt to do so, and I had permission (see Credits above). Plus, it's locked off upstairs now, primarily to prevent confusion with the patron elevator.
