Greetings comrades. I’m confident collective leadership can strengthen us. I will bring strong community organising, facilitation skills, and extensive campaigning experience, to the CEC to help that happen. I support maximum member democracy and am a UNISON member. I was campaign manager for Tanushka Marah, Independent Hove/Portslade 2024 (member of The Collective). I have experience establishing organisational structures; power sharing, enabling leadership, swiftly activating peoples ideas, supporting dispute resolution, and organising joyfully. Growing from scratch, over 4 months, despite the odds we gained 3048 votes in a Labour stronghold, on an explicitly anti-austerity, pro-Palestine, climate justice platform. Post election, I stewarded the formation of a non-sectarian socialist organisation: Collective Action Brighton Hove; the democratic evolution of it’s structure, outwardly focussing on local campaigns, local election candidates and supporting a new Left party. I’m skilled facilitating large assemblies; YP Brighton launch, SE Regional Assembly. I prioritise marginalised voices, sharing airtime, keeping it lively; we can enjoy fighting for change together. I worked with YP Connections prior to founding, as a trusted comrade, facilitating occasional Zooms. CEC must: Be bold, imaginative, transparent, comradely. Build trust; fearless socialist unity – no purge. Immediately empower branches to self-organise, ensuring accountability, access to finance, data. Create workable, adaptable structures. Equip campaigning, rank & file / community organising, political education, social / cultural celebration. Build feedback loops; CEC – members. Give members control of Conference agenda . Build sub-committees/ Commissions. Invite national experts. Turn outward with ambitious national campaigns, confident communications, active solidarity with oppressed groups. Our unjust world demands transformation; a broad anti-racist working class coalition to defeat brutal colonial, white-supremacist, corporate nature destroying greed. We must act decisively where we align, resolve disputes together; valuing different theoretical approaches and listening to membership experiences.
