NSW XPT Canberra - Yass - Melbourne Economy Class Review - Is this option better than V/Line?

There are four ways to travel between Canberra and Melbourne: by plane, by coach, by car and by coach + train. In December 2020, I caught the V/Line N set train from Melbourne to Wodonga, then caught the V/Line coach to Canberra. NSW XPT also provides a similar coach + train service, today, I'd like to check it out. I'm first going to catch a one hour NSW TrainLink coach from Canberra Civic to Yass Junction Railway Station, then I'm going to catch the XPT from Yass all the way to Melbourne Southern Cross Station.
