Happy Garifuna-American Heritage Month, everyone! 🥁✨ Shout out to ALL my Garifuna heroes… including some of my close friends, mentors, and insightful folks I met along the way while creating this short video. Today (March 11th) until April 11th celebrates and honors the unique, history, culture, and contributions of the Garifuna people, our legendary journey from St. Vincent to Central America and the community, care and culture we continue to preserve living in the States. This month, More Than Miles digs further into the indigenous diaspora 🤎 I’m rolling out more Garifuna-themed content here, including more Garifuna stories, language videos and how Garifuna youth and community members are using their unique gifts and talents to preserve the culture. To the Garifuna diaspora in the U.S., I see you ALL. We’re HERE, PROUD of our roots and know where we’re going as we take everything step by step.
