Helisandro is a deaf surgeon who can hear. He lost his hearing as a kid and started lip reading. He could not adapt to hearing aids. After getting a cochlear implant, he only regrets not having gotten it before. According to WHO, there are 1.5 billion people with some level of hearing loss worldwide. I'm Paula Pfeifer, profoundly deaf in both ears but I can every every single sound with two cochlear implants. I lead the largest online community of people with hearing loss in my country.
