I went mural hunting for the best street art in Penang. Most of the Penang street art is located in Georgetown, the main city on the island and the capital of Penang state, and it is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In 2012, the Penang Municipal Council commissioned Lithuanian graffiti master Ernest Zacharevic to see what he could do to beautify the crumbling walls across the city's historic section. As a result, this gave birth to Penang Street Art. Many other artists contributed, including Russian artist Yulia Volchkova and local artist Louis Gan.
