My name is Andy and I am a Malaysian Chinese. I was born, grew up and studied in Malaysia and spent my entire 44 years in Malaysia, except for about 11 years that I was away for study in England and work in Hong Kong and Singapore. I have also been to South Korea, Taiwan and China for 50 times over the past 4 years for work and I really enjoy and appreciate the different cultures and food in different parts of the world. There are 3 main ethnic groups in Malaysia, namely Malays, Chinese and Indians, and we have been living in harmony with each other for centuries. As the food for Malays and Indians tends to be spicier than the food for Chinese, my taste bud has become very receptive to food with strong flavor and maximum spicy level after years of eating Malay and Indian food in Malaysia. Having said that, there are also many Malaysians who don’t eat spicy food and we can also easily find non-spicy food in Malaysia. Spicy Mala hotpot is deeply loved by Malaysians due to its fragrant soup base and strong spiciness. Shu Daxia from Chengdu (China) has opened few outlets in Malaysia and the unique decoration of the Johor Bahru outlet has not only become a hotspot for social media check-in, but also the top-grade cuisine has been voted as the must-eat and must-visit restaurant for fans of spicy hotpot. Although I have just had my meal at Shu Daxia, I have already begun to plan when I can go back to eat again. Hope you like my video and please subscribe to my YouTube channel for more new videos that will be uploaded on every Thursday :)
