How to mount fittings on pipes ? – Aluminium compressed air network- PREVOST PIPING SYSTEM - EN/US

To help you install your PREVOST PIPING SYSTEM compressed air network correctly and durably, we have compiled the key steps for quick, effective and long-lasting installation. All the tools used in this video are listed at the end of the description. Step 1 – prepare the pipe : You will need a tool kit for preparing aluminium pipes (available in our assembly accessories) 0:19 - Define the required pipe length and mark the cutting location. 0:23 - Cut. 0:35 - Trim and chamfer both ends (special tool available in the tool kit). That's all there is to it – your pipe is ready to be installed! Step 2 – assemble the coupling on the pipe : You will need one or more wrenches (kit available) and assembly fluid for aluminium pipes. 1:06 - Mark the length of pipe to be inserted using the mark on the wrench specific to the PPS network. 1:11 - Lubricate the end with assembly fluid. 1:15 - Loosen the PPS1 coupling by one quarter-turn and fit it to the pipe. 1:23 - Initially, tighten the nut by hand. 1:27 - Subsequently, tighten it by one quarter-turn using the wrench. Following these steps will ensure that the coupling is properly tightened on the pipe. Errors to be avoided during assembly : 1:56 - Do not cut the pipe using a hacksaw or any other unsuitable tool (non-perpendicular cut resulting in the pipe not being correctly inserted into the coupling). 1:58 - Do not grind the ends of the pipe with an unsuitable tool, as this could result in a poor chamfer that would damage the seal when fitting the coupling to the pipe. 2:01 - Do not disassemble the coupling to fit it on the pipe, as this could adversely affect the assembly of internal parts, which would no longer be optimally torqued. 2:09 - Do not tighten the coupling with a wrench not designed for this purpose (e.g. tongue and groove pliers). These tools do not guarantee optimal tightening and can damage the nut. 2:11 - The couplings must be tightened to the recommended torque. Over-tightening the nut could damage internal parts, preventing the coupling being properly mounted on the pipe.
