In this final episode of the series we finally get some bright sunshine after days of cruising in very dull and damp conditions. The hedgerows are bursting with berries and the leaves on the trees are beginning to display their autumn colours. We continue north, passing through Glascote Locks in Tamworth, before passing Fazeley Junction, where the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal branches off towards Birmingham. We moor for the night near Tamhorn Park Bridge (Hopwas) within sight and sound of the West Coast Main Line (again!). The clear weather continues the following day, 4th October, as we make our way past Whittington, Huddlesford and Streethay before arriving at Fradley Junction, where we turn right onto the Trent and Mersey Canal towards Alrewas. Our video series ends on the River Trent at Wychnor Lock, from where we will continue along the Trent and Mersey Canal towards Willington and, the following day, we will end the cruise at our mooring at Shardlow, having travelled 226 miles in 28 days, cruising for 116 hours 30 minutes and passing through 147 locks.
