People come to me with a great deal of confusion, misunderstandings, and many expectations because of a massive shift from spiritual growth to spiritual politics. Many religions have become extremely ego-centered and favor strengthening spiritual techniques and not spiritual development. This is happening in many African Traditions Religions, which now favor material wealth, power, lineage clicks, personal agendas, and dogma! As a result, the tradition looks more like a multi-level marketing company than a religion geared towards developing consciousness for the purpose of character development. The Orisha nor IFA are being held back by man’s limited thinking. If we don’t make our tradition more accessible, we are in danger of another African tradition dying by the wayside.
