Welcome back to another video! This time we are trying one of my favorite moves and a really fun one to do and learn! The up wind 360 in the straps. So get ready to have some fun and look cool doing it... This move is easy and one of the basics as it gives you core techniques needed in future moves such as the Flaka, Shaka, etc. But even if you are not planning on getting into freestyle the techniques and understanding, as well as control of the wind it gives you is something that will boost your riding! Something that will help you a lot for this move is knowing how to do a Helitack! If you don't know or want to refresh your memory go check out my previous video (lots of helpful tips for sail control there). Main tips: 1. As in the Helitack, slice the sail into the wind, don't push it across your board! You don't need too much power in the sail... 2. Before slicing the sail into the wind make sure you have gotten your body over the centre of your board and your weight is on the front leg! 3. Timing! Wait enough to make sure your kit has rotated as much as possible. Don't rush to turn around as it will simply not work if the board isn't in the right place. 4.Once you get the clew of the sail through the wind line make sure to convert your weight to the back leg to make sure you don't get thrown of the board and also to assist the last part of the rotation. 5. Once coming to the end of your rotation make sure to put the sail forwards to stabilize the whole kit and stop you from over rotating. And that's basically it! Its an easy move and fun to learn. Of course it needs practice like anything in windsurfing but as I mentioned is a highly important move to have in your arsenal, so get to learning!
