One of the most melodic and virtuoso studies for saxophone composed by Juan Carlos Navas Mena and performed by Theofilos Sotiriades (https://www.theofilossotiriades.com). Μany thanks to Marianthi Psomataki and Spira Lab Studio. Order: https://amzn.eu/d/8VujK77/ or contact: [email protected] The musical literature composed for Adolphe Sax’s instrument is rich and varied. There is a wealth of musical literature composed Adolphe Sax’s instrument. Since Adolphe Sax registered his first patent in 1846, numerous composers have written for Sax's new instrument. The instrument had to quickly adapt to the growing body of literature created by various authors as well as to the performing standards that already characterised "propius" instruments such as the flute and the clarinet. The versatility of the saxophone grew as its technical perfection developed. However, its timbre was something new to the ears of the time and very few authors fully bet on it as a fully-fledged member of the symphony orchestra. Authors such as Demersseman (a flutist) and Singelee (a violinist), - note that none of them were saxophone players - opted for the virtuosic and lyrical writing for this new instrument. However, few specialists of the instrument of the time committed to writing for it . Marcel Mule and Sigurd Rascher lay the foundations of technical -performative/technical - interpretive studies that gave way to an extensive body of literature, a decisive pillar in the development of the classical saxophone. The 12 technical - interpretive studies are born from this recovery of the classic saxophone with a vision of the 21st century. The saxophonist who tackles them must possess considerable technical skills and a good command of breathing.“In crescendo” involves a growing degree of technical difficulty between études # 1 and # 12, the latter being a full concert piece.
