Nanu Narayanan of Chempazhanthy wandered far and wide seeking the Supreme Truth.Finally, he reached the pinnacle of this medicine mountain, on the lap of Mother Nature. Under ardent penance, he realised self-attainment and transformed as Sree Narayana Guru. Pillathadam Cave is the Sanctum Sanctorum. Guru wanted the common man to realise the Truth, getting to know the illusion that engulfs this world and attain the real knowledge. He sacrificed everything earthly to know the meaning of life. I started visiting this mountain many years ago. On September 21, 1991; on the sacred Samadhi day, I reached at the pinnacle of Maruthwamala. As I was spending time in meditation and prayer, I got an inner call that I need not go anywhere else thereafter. I took this as a command from Guru. On January 9, 1992, on the auspicious Chathayam day, I did poojas and remained in prayer in the Pillathadam cave. Subsequently, many devotees started visiting regularly. They formed the Chathaya Pooja group and built a hut in the valley.The hut slowly developed in to the present Sree Narayana Guru Dharma Mutt. It is indeed a fact that the number of devotees pouring in to Maruthwamala has been on the rise ever since. They all visit this beautiful abode of peace, and spend time away from the busy life and let Guru’s presence seep into them.During the 25th year of Chathaya Pooja celebrations, Guru had invested a great responsibility – the Vishwashanthi Mandir in the lushful valley of Maruthwamala. The construction is a 7 floor towering to 125ft height. The intention of the construction is to know Guru, learn his teachings and get blessed, and to acquire lessons on how poojas are conducted.The Maruthwamala is getting ready for a Shrine of Peace, where anytime of their visit the pilgrims and devotees are sanctified with an inner Santhi Mantra. The harbinger of this dream mission is the Vishwa Santhi Yagna. The Yagna will conclude on January 30, 2017; the 384th day since the holy fire had been set to blaze. As the Yagna concludes, the corner stone will be laid on that purified earth for the construction of the Vishwashanthi Mandir. The Vishwa Santhi Mandir will be the light house of unfailing inspiration that would spread the philosophy and prophetic teachings of the great Guru bearing the message of Universal Humanity, thus enlightening the world. In Guru’s name, we wish for, and expect dedication and co-operation from everyone in this 100 crore mega venture.
