This video was filmed in June 2023 and shows the trip. THE TRIP: My dad and I left for Patagonia as soon as school got out and it took 2 full days to get there with 3 planes, 2 buses, and 1 taxi. Its far. When we made it to El Chalten, we checked into our hostel and prepared our gear because there was a short weather window the next day and we wanted to make take advantage of it. The sun rose at 9:30 so we didn't have to wake up early to see the sunrise. It was lovely. We then hiked up to Laguna Torre and camped at the camp site there. It was the very end of fall, so cold but no snow. It was very clear that night and thankfully I have to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night and looked up and saw the most amazing stars. The Milky Way was right above us and no light pollution allowed for the brightest stars I'd ever seen. While taking pictures without a flashlight on, a fox ran by me and I thought it was a puma and I thought I was going to die but I didn't. We then went back down to El Chalten and the next few days were slow as I was trying to get over my awful cold and wait for another nice weather window. We still did a hike everyday, but most of the footage didn't make it into the final video. The second song is when we hiked up to Limo Del Pliegue Tombado. It was very cool. The next few days it snowed a lot and our second to last night we hiked up to Poincenot Campsite to spend the night again. We pitched our tent and then kept hiking up to Lago de los Tres. Wowowow. So pretty. And there were funny birds there. I named the big White Throated Caracara "Chumlee." Then went back to our tents and slept. We were exhausted and as we walked the snow melted into by boots which left me with the beginnings of trench foot. We woke up to a very cold morning and packed up our tent. Putting on ice block frozen boots was a definite low and I couldn't feel my feet in them for about an hour. Then hiked back to El Chalten and got in one more day hike before heading home. Spectacular trip. Want to go back asap...
