CAT'S SQUIRREL Guitar Cover :: The Cream :: Eric Clapton :: Jack Bruce :: Ginger Baker

This was recorded in the same way as my N.S.U. cover, using as a backing track the side of the stereo that doesn't have Eric's guitar. There was still quite a bit of bleed, so I had to keep the volume right down, which, unfortunately, meant Ginger's drums and Jack's bass went with it. To compensate a little for the latter I added a very simple bass line of my own. This is about as close as I can get it using the amp simulators in Garageband, without spending days messing about with every possible permutation of amps, settings, cabs, mic's, mic positions, guitar settings and goodness knows what else. Eric will almost certainly be using a 1958-1960 sunburst Les Paul (most likely the ex-Andy Summers guitar, a 1960 model) plugged into a 100w Marshall. I think the guitar sound on Fresh Cream is phenomenal. Anyway, I hope you enjoy it. I'll be doing tutorials shortly for the two theme riffs and the solo.
