Ultimate BUGOUT ADVENTURE van build and disaster!

This video documents the build of our ultimate Bugout camper van and the story of ultimately losing it. Looking back through the footage now feels strange. So much time, money, hard work and goodwill went into the build. We wanted to share the journey so others might see what goes into something like this and maybe learn from our experience. A huge thank you to everyone who helped along the way. For a short wonderful time the van became everything we hoped for: our home away from home. We used it for surf and dive trips, camping in the wilds of Scotland with our dogs. Then on June 26th, 2022, disaster struck and the van went up in flames. Police asked whether anyone had a grudge against us, a vendetta or whether this was simply arson, wilful fire-raising. Thankfully no one was hurt, but in the end no one was ever caught or held accountable. By morning there was nothing left but twisted metal and ash. Metal can be replaced. Dreams can be forged again. Even now, four years later, it still hurts. One day we’d love to build another rig and get back out there. If that journey ever starts again, we’ll make sure to bring everyone along for the ride.
