Dr. Paul Gavrilyuk, Aquinas Chair in Theology at the University of St. Thomas, speaks at the anti-war rally organized by the Ukrainian American Community Center of Minnesota on March 6, 2022, ten days after the military aggression of the Russian state against Ukraine. Gavrilyuk addresses the current military situation, the targeting of civilians by the Russian army, and measures that can be undertaken for the nuclear security of Ukraine and the rest of Europe. He urges to support humanitarian relief work directed at refugees and voluntary ground defense units. Among the speakers were also Minnesota's Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey. Hundreds of people representing Minnesota's diverse communities were in attendance.
