補助單位:文化部(文化部114年度臺灣藝術研究補助計畫) 指導單位:高雄市政府文化局 主辦單位:高雄市立美術館 協辦單位:國立高雄科技大學、國立中山大學 “Hands Create Cities: A Research, Documentation, and Sharing Project on Workers’ Creative Practices” Drawing on over three decades of accumulated expertise in local art historical research, as well as its extensive collections, research interpretation, and artistic networks, the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts collaborates with interdisciplinary researchers, artists, and industry partners to form research teams that jointly investigate, study, and document the creative processes of artists who are workers themselves or who draw inspiration from industrial contexts. Based on the findings of this research, the project simultaneously develops a range of sharing and educational programs, extending its outreach beyond the museum to industrial communities. The initiative not only deepens the research framework of “workers’ art” and supplements local historical materials on Kaohsiung’s industrial art, but also successfully builds a platform for exchange among artists, the museum, and industrial sites. Through creative interventions by artists with peer backgrounds, the project aspires to extend artistic perspectives into industrial environments that are often perceived as monotonous and standardized, opening another window for observing and understanding everyday labor and life. Modes of Collaboration This series of sharing sessions primarily features the screening of documentary videos, artist Q&A sessions, and the distribution of guided booklets (designed for students and workers). The aim is to allow artworks to be more than objects for viewing, transforming them into immersive experiences that intertwine artistic creation with the artists’ formative experiences, labor histories, everyday lives, social contexts, and industrial realities. The Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts welcomes inquiries from companies, associations, and campus groups in southern Taiwan regarding collaborative events. Each session will focus on sharing the work of one to two artists. Event dates and times will be confirmed after coordination. Applications are accepted from January to December 2026 (the organizer reserves the right to adjust based on actual circumstances).
