Dino’s Tinker Shed, S2 Ep53, Today, I service a Ski Doo secondary clutch on a REV GTX. In this episode, I show you how to remove, clean and inspect a driven clutch in a 2005 REV GTX with a 500ss motor. Proper cleaning and set up for any snowmobile clutch and will result in better engagement and shifting quality. This is not a difficult task and many other snow machines use very similar clutches with slight variations on how the unit is put together and held on the jack shaft. Before you begin I always recommend acquiring and reading the manual that is associated with your particular make model and year of your sled, even the same make and model may have variations of clutches between different years so make sure you know what you have before you start this job. You will need a few specialized tools, a clutch press being the most notable however some other brands of clutches may also require tools I do not mention in the video such as snap ring plyers so make sure to check your manual.
