Pockets of Joy, one of the Simpletons earliest and most perfect songs. I think Shane wrote this whilst he and Chris Crouch were on exchange at the University of Nebraska for a semester. It was this kind of original material, being played live around Lismore venues such as the Tatts, Metro, and Student Union that singled the Simpletons out from the rest of the Lismore music scene, which at that stage was old nth coast hipsters playing blues, cover bands playing Khe Sahn, and heavy groups trying to be the new Pearl Jam,.
